Actor Michael Madsen, best known for his collaborations with director Quentin Tarantino and iconic roles in films like Reservoir Dogs and Kill Bill, has died at the age of 67, his publicist Liz Rodriguez confirmed.
Madsen was found unresponsive at his home in Malibu, California, on Thursday morning. According to Rodriguez, the actor suffered a cardiac arrest. His passing was also confirmed by Sgt. Christopher Jauregui of the Los Angeles Sheriff Department’s Lost Hills Station, who stated that deputies responded to a call at Madsen’s residence and found him unresponsive.
“Michael Madsen was one of Hollywood’s most iconic actors, who will be missed by many,” read a joint statement issued by his managers Susan Ferris and Ron Smith of Bohemia Entertainment, along with Rodriguez.
Madsen’s film career spanned more than four decades and included over 300 acting credits. His intense, often brooding performances made him a fan favorite in crime dramas and action thrillers. He was also a poet, photographer, and father.
