A 60-year-old lawyer from Pannirendawa was arrested yesterday evening by the Digital Forensics Unit of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) for sending sexually harassing messages via Messenger to a High Court judge in the North Western Province.
According to the CID, the lawyer had sent these inappropriate messages through social media. The arrest was made following an investigation based on a complaint filed by the female judge, and under the guidance of the Attorney General. The suspect is scheduled to be produced in court today.
