    President Visits Veterans at Mihindu Seth Madura

    President Anura Kumara Dissanayake visited the Mihindu Seth Madura wellness center in Attidiya this morning (19) to inquire into the wellbeing of the resident disabled soldiers receiving long-term care, according to the President’s Media Division.

    During the visit, the President warmly interacted with the veterans and later observed their artworks and creative expressions.

    He emphasized that the 30-year war had left many in both the North and South permanently disabled, with the loss of limbs and other injuries. He assured that no such tragic situation would be allowed to recur in the future.

    President Dissanayake also pledged his continuous commitment to the wellbeing and development of disabled veterans and their families.

    The President engaged in discussions with the medical staff and officials of Mihindu Seth Madura, focusing on improving medical and service facilities for the veterans.

    The visit was attended by Defense Secretary Retired Air Vice Marshal Sampath Thuyiyakontha, Army Commander Lieutenant General Lasantga Rodrigo, Mihindu Seth Madura Executive Officer Brigadier W.G.S.D.S. Rajakaruna, Director of Army Veteran Affairs and Rehabilitation Brigadier W.A.S. Wijedasa, and several other senior officers and personnel.
