A group dressed as police officers forcibly entered a house in Parakadduwa, Eheliyagoda, and attempted to abduct a young man by placing him in a jeep. While trying to save his son, the father clung to the vehicle and was run over, leading to his escape.
The father, who was seriously injured after being run over by the jeep, was admitted to the hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
This incident occurred on the evening of the 20th, according to Eheliyagoda police.
The abducted individual is a 33-year-old man. After kidnapping the young man, the group drove him to a location on the Panawala Road in Eheliyagoda, where they forced him out of the jeep, made him kneel on the road, assaulted him, and attacked him with acid before fleeing. The injured young man has also been hospitalized, police stated.
Initial investigations suggest that the incident may have been triggered by a dispute between the abducted man’s brother’s wife and another individual. The suspect in this case, along with his family members, appears to have fled their residence.
