Major General Lasantha Rodrigo, who assumes duties as the Central Provincial Commander, after starting his duties, came to Sri Dalada Maligawa yesterday (29) and paid obeisance to the sacred tooth relic and received blessings.
The Major General was received by Diyawadana Nilame Mr. Nilanga Dela.
Then he visited the chief incumbents of Asgiri and Malwathu and received the blessings.
Major General Lasantha Rodrigo told the chief incumbents that the Sri Lankan Army is dedicated to maintaining the religious and national harmony in maintaining the daily lives of the people of the Central Province as normal and that the guidance of the Maha Sangha, which constantly guides and advises them to make the work successful, is a great strength.
