The Executive Council of the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna has today (7) decided to take legal action against Justice Minister Wijedasa Rajapaksa, who became a member of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party.
The disciplinary committee has been informed about it.
This decision was taken when the Executive Council of the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna met today (07) in the morning under the chairmanship of former President Mahinda Rajapaksa at the residence of the former President at Wijerama Mawatha, Colombo.
Minister Wijayadasa Rajapaksa had also announced that he is currently running as the presidential candidate of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party.
Former President Maithripala Sirisena had also said that he would express his support for it while joining a rally on May Day.
Meanwhile, Member of Parliament Rohitha Abeygunawardena has been appointed as the National Convener of the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna.
It is reported that Mr. Basil Rajapaksa, the founder of the party, has not participated in these discussions.
