    The cultivation subsidy given to farmers exceeds 7 billion

    The Department of Agricultural Development has now taken steps to transfer an amount of 2.5 billion rupees as cultivation subsidy to the farmers’ accounts for the paddy cultivation activities of this year’s yala season (2024).

    Accordingly, more than 2.5 billion rupees have been spent on agriculture for 213,771 farmers. The amount of paddy that has been subsidized is 167,362 hectares.

    It is expected that about 450,000 hectares of paddy fields will be cultivated in this year’s yala season, and the financial subsidy given to all cultivated paddies will be about 7.5 billion rupees, according to the Department of Agrarian People’s Development.
