The Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka is scheduled to meet on the 28th to discuss the proposed electricity tariff revision.
A spokesperson of the commission said that a final decision is to be taken regarding the proposal related to electricity tariff revision.
The Ceylon Electricity Board’s proposal to reduce electricity charges was submitted to the Utilities Commission on the 22nd.
Mr. Kanchana Wijesekera, the Minister of Electricity and Energy, stated in Parliament recently that it has been proposed to reduce the electricity tariffs which were increased in October last year in this amendment.
