Nine Senior Superintendents of Police and one Superintendent of Police have been transferred with immediate effect.
The transfers include the Director of the Police Legal Division, SSP Ruwan Gunasekara, as the Director of the Judicial Security Division and the Director of the IGP’s Secretariat, SSP Jaliya Senaratne, as the Director of the In-Service Training Division. The two officials are former media spokespersons.
Among other transfers, the Director of the Discipline and Calcutta Division, SSP J. P. Jayasinghe as the Director of the IGP’s Secretariat, SSP Ujith Liyanage, who is the Chief of Police of the Jaffna Division, has been appointed as the Director of the Community Police Division, Director of the In-Service Training Division SSP A. K. Jayasinghe as the Deputy Director of the Police College, SSP P. N. K. D. Paliskara who was serving as the Personal Assistant to the Sabaragamuwa Senior DIG has been appointed as the Head of the New Police Station Inauguration Division, Director of the Western Province Community Police Division SSP T. P. Hewapathira as the Director of the Discipline and Conduct Division, Seethawaka Police Division Director SSP K. G. P. P. Mr. Samarapala to the National Police Training College, SSP Sanjaya Irasinghe, Director of the Security Division of Judges, has also been appointed as the Chief of the Seethawaka Police Division.
