The National Building Research Institute says that the decrease in air quality reported in several areas will return to normal by today (18).
Air quality had decreased in Jaffna, Mannar, Colombo and Galle areas.
Sarath Premasiri, director of the National Building Research Institute, said yesterday the air quality index in Colombo was close to 100 and in other areas the index was 50-100.
Last Monday, the index value was 105 near Battaramulla and Colombo Fort in Colombo district, while the index value was close to 100 in Jaffna.
