There is also a possibility that the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna may not field a candidate for the presidential election, says former President Mahinda Rajapaksa, the leader of that party.
He said this while answering a question asked by journalists.
Journalist – ” Is the other party saying that Mr. Ranil Wickramasinghe is running as the national candidate?”
Answer – “He is the candidate of the United National Party. “
Journalist – “And yours?”
Answers – “No, we haven’t decided that yet. Maybe our party will participate or not.”
