Udaya Gammanpila, Minister of Energy has stated that there is no need for the public to be alarmed as the reports are baseless that say there will be a shortage of petrol in the country soon.
The ministry said in a statement that the country currently has sufficient stocks of petrol for 30 days.
A ship with 35,000 metric tons of petrol is scheduled to arrive in Sri Lanka on July 19 in another 13 days.
Therefore, the rumors that say there is a risk of a petrol shortage in Sri Lanka are baseless, the Minister said.
