“Ready to accept the challenge of protecting the country at any time”

Parliament member Namal Rajapaksa emphasized today (08) that not only Namal Rajapaksa but also Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna is ready to accept the challenge of building the party as well as the challenge of protecting the country.

Mr. Namal Rajapakse emphasized this while speaking to the media at the headquarters of the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna.

He also said that how to overcome the challenges facing the country will be discussed at length.

He also stated that this is the best opportunity for a young political leader to mature.

He mentioned that Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna is ready for any election and that Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna will implement the program to reassert itself as the strongest political force at present.

“No one has escaped from the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna. But some political parties who were in alliance with us have changed alliances for their own benefit. Everyone can make impossible promises. Fairy tales can be told. The Yahapalana government came to power saying that they will increase salaries by Rs.10,000. A few days after he came and increased it, he said that he got into trouble because he increased the salaries by Rs. 10,000. When President Ranil Wickremesinghe took over the Yahapalana government, he said that by 2020, the country would be free from debt. He is still restructuring the debt today after returning to power. The debt taken during the Yahapalana government is the debt being restructured. Every politician can tell fairy tales and paint a beautiful picture. However, the people of this country should find out what political force implemented the policies in practice at the ground level. Looking at it from that point of view, the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna-led Mahinda Rajapaksa government is the political force that made what was said a political reality at the grassroots level.

This is the right time to strengthen the party. As young leaders, our responsibility is to build a political force that sincerely loves this country, respects the locals and has a program to build this country, strengthening the camp we represent just as Mahinda Rajapaksa went on ‘Padayathra’ and strengthened the political camps he believed in. Otherwise, if someone believes at this time that this is the opportunity to make the most of it for personal gain, no. It’s not fair.” said Namal.
