The priest in charge of the hostel has been arrested for sexually abusing 05 girls who were staying in a dormitory of an educational institution run by a congregation of a major religion in Sri Lanka.
According to a complaint received by the Kirulapana police, investigations were conducted and this priest was arrested yesterday.
This hostel is located next to High Level Road.
The police say that the girls who were sexually assaulted are between the ages of 09 and 17 years.
Police investigations have revealed that these girls have been harassed by the priest from time to time since 2020.
