Professor GL Peiris, Dilan Perera, Dr. Nalaka Godaheva and Professor Channa Jayasumana of the Freedom People’s Congress led by Mr. Dallas Alahapperuma are going to join the Samagi Jana Sandhana led by Mr. Sajith Premadasa soon.
The members of the Freedom People’s Congress had a long discussion regarding this decision at the party office in Nawala last Tuesday.
However, this decision was revealed to the media the day before the national convention of Pohottuwa, and sources also spread that the group that does not join with Mr. Sajith Premadasa would join the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna again.
However, leader Dallas Alahapperuma has indicated that a compromise is necessary to join the Samagi Jana Sandhana and that the union with Samagi Jana Sandhana should not be done without any conditions.
Including these four, the number of MPs representing the Freedom People’s Congress is thirteen. On September 2, 2022, the Freedom People’s Congress was started.
