The founder of the party, former finance minister Basil Rajapaksa says that Podujana Peramuna will definitely win the next election.
“If there is any election in the future, we will work to win the election. And we are preparing to form our own government. But we all have to work to make it a real bold government so that it is not a fake like the one that was established before. We will give our strength to that.” He further said this while attending the National General Conference of the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna held at the Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium in Colombo today.
“I have one request from all of you. When going to the village, please do not cross the road at any place other than the yellow crossing. This thing called social media is waiting to catch our mistake. Therefore, let us take the great lesson taught to us by Mr. Mahinda Rajapaksa with great discipline and let our party act as an exemplary party in the future. So don’t think that we are cowards. We are ready to face anything.
I especially remember here, if you hit a dog running on the road with a stone from behind, the dog will bark and run even faster. But if you throw a stone at a lion, the lion will stop and look back to see who threw the stone. We, the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna, are like that. Do not come to hit us with stones. We will also pay back…” said Mr. Basil Rajapaksa.
