An investigation has been started into the power outage that affected the island yesterday (11).
This was said by the Minister of State for Power and Energy, Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna Member of Parliament Mr. Indika Anuruddha in today’s meeting while replying to a question raised by the opposition leader, Mr. Sajith Premadasa.
Due to a fault in the transmission system from Kothmale to Biyagama due to a lightning strike, the power outage started at around 5 pm yesterday and lasted until around 11 pm.
The Minister of State said that the Ministry of Power and Energy and the Ceylon Electricity Board will conduct the related investigation.
