Train services between Colombo Fort and Jaffna to Kankasanturai will be temporarily suspended.
That is for a period of 6 months.
This step has been taken due to the modernization work of Northern Railways.
The Railway Department says that the modernization work will be started on 07.01.2024.
During the closure period, trains will run only from Colombo Fort to Mahawa and from Kankasanturaya to Anuradhapura.
