Mr. Nandalal Weerasinghe, Governor of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka, is confident that the second installment of the International Monetary Fund will be approved next month.
“We will be able to approve the program of the International Monetary Fund within the month of December. We are making good progress, and official bilateral creditor certificates are required. That is the certificate of OCC (Official Creditor Committee) and China Exim Bank” said Dr. Nandalal Weerasinghe in an awareness meeting held at the Central Bank today.
He said that Sri Lanka expects to receive funds through budget support programs from international financial institutions such as the World Bank and the Asian Development Bank after completing the first review of the International Monetary Fund.
“We are moving in the right direction and will see positive results soon.” He expressed confidence.
