The Ministry of Mass Media has decided to reduce the application fee for the legal license to be obtained when importing foreign films for public screening.
The ministry said that the related fees have been revised to be effective from the first day of next month.
Previously, a fee of 40,000 rupees was charged for submitting an application for a legal license to screen a foreign film in the country.
According to the new amendment, the amount has been reduced to 30,000 rupees, according to the Ministry of Mass Media.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Mass Media has also taken steps to amend the Public Appearance Control Act as the Public Appearance Control Ordinance.
