It is reported that four people, including a Japanese national, who were missing after a boat capsized in Marawila Bay area, have been rescued.
The accident occurred when a group of five people, including a foreigner, went to sea in a small dinghy boat for fishing.
It is said that the cause of the accident was bad weather.
The owner of the overturned boat is a resident of Marawila area and he has complained to Marawila police regarding the incident.
The people who steered the boat managed to inform a fisherman on land about the emergency situation through a phone message.
A group of local residents immediately reached the spot where the accident was reported and rescued the boat operator and brought him safely to the land.
Police said the remaining four people in the missing boat were rescued after a search and rescue operation launched with the help of the Navy.
