It is reported that the Department of Railways has taken measures to suspend the work of 5 railway employees, including the security officer of the Anuradhapura Railway Station.
It is related to an incident of theft of 545 liters of diesel from the railway station.
This diesel theft took place on September 19.
A three-member committee was appointed by the General Manager of Railways to look into this.
This step has been taken considering the report submitted by the said committee.
The officials concerned will be suspended until the investigations regarding the diesel theft are completed.
Anuradhapura Police is also investigating this.
