The Galewela police have arrested female monk and another person who were excavating in the Saddhammaseela monastery in Galapamula, Galewela area while performing rituals to unearth a treasure.
A 44-year-old man who is a resident of Hebarawa, Aluyatwela, and a 68-year-old female monk have been arrested as follows.
According to the police, a raid was conducted based on a tip-off that an excavation was being carried out to recover a treasure in this monastery and they saw that an excavation was being carried out there. During the questioning, it was found that what was going on here was excavation to recover a treasure, so the police said that female monk and the person who was digging were arrested.
