A 59-year-old resident of Puwakpitiya, Aswatta has died due to the explosion of a gun.
This person, who is a farmer by profession and lives alone at home, died yesterday.
Investigations have revealed that the accident occurred while the gun was being loaded with gunpowder.
The police say that the firearm has been prepared to hunt animals.
