The Computer Crime Investigation Division of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has successfully apprehended a 29-year-old individual residing in Rathnapura, Lellupitiwa, Welihinda, who was involved in extorting money from women by threatening to produce and publish nude videos of them.
The suspect, identified as a construction worker, had been targeting women, threatening to release compromising nude videos unless they paid him a sum of money. The CID, upon investigation, discovered several nude videos of different women in the suspect’s possession.
Law enforcement authorities have taken the necessary actions to ensure the safety and security of the victims involved. Further legal proceedings are expected as the investigation continues into this case of extortion and harassment.
