The State-Provincial Public Management Service Officers Association has handed over a petition with 100,000 signatures to the Minister of State for Finance Mr. Ranjith Siyambalapitiya at the Ministry of Finance today (07) demanding a salary increase of 20,000 rupees in the upcoming budget.
The Minister of State said that since the President has promised the state sector salary increase in the next budget, they have been informed that a balanced salary increase will happen in the next budget.
The association said that along with the salary increase memorandum submitted by their association to the Minister of State for Finance last October 19, the request was submitted with the signatures of 100,000 state sector employees in all services asking for an increase in the salaries of state sector employees in the 2024 budget.
The 100,000 signature petition handed over to the Minister of State for Finance by the State-Provincial Public Management Service Officers Association along with the following letter.
