The railway department says that there has been a disruption in the running of trains on the hill country route.
It was due to the fact that a passenger train running from Badulla to Colombo derailed between Kinigama and Heel oya stations today at around 11.45 am.
The department says that efforts are being made to quickly restore the train running on the hill country route.
