The Kuliapitiya Special Crime Investigation Division has successfully apprehended two individuals involved in an elaborate scam promising lucrative job opportunities in Japan. The fraudsters had deceived seven individuals, convincing them that they were being offered employment in Japan in exchange for more than 163 lakh rupees.
Following complaints lodged by the victims, law enforcement authorities swiftly initiated investigations, leading to the arrest of the two suspects. The arrested individuals, aged 35 and 57, hail from Imbulgoda and Halmillaweva, respectively. Their fraudulent scheme, which preyed on the hopes and aspirations of unsuspecting job seekers, has been thwarted, ensuring justice for those affected by their deceitful actions. Further inquiries are underway to uncover the full extent of their operations and bring any additional accomplices to justice.
