Mr. Y Wickramasiri, Matara District Secretary, says that the removal of iron piles in the side canal of River Nilwala near the salt barrier in Matara, Piladuwa area will start from tomorrow (20).
He said that nearly Rs. 7 million will be spent on it.
This is to be done under the supervision of the Army, the Irrigation Department and the Water Supply Board and under the coordination of the Matara District Secretariat.
