Government Plans Amendments to Online Security Bill

The Sri Lankan government has announced its intention to introduce amendments to the contentious bill concerning the security of online systems. The Attorney General conveyed this decision to the Supreme Court, where numerous petitions challenging the bill are currently under review. Approximately 50 petitions have been filed in opposition to the legislation, reflecting widespread concerns within the public. The proposed amendments are expected to be presented during the executive council sessions of the Parliament.
