The Association of Public Inspectors has issued a health advisory, warning of the risk of rat fever and diarrhea spreading in flooded areas. Mr. Upul Rohana, the chairman of the association, emphasized the importance of taking preventive measures to avoid these diseases.
To prevent rat fever, the association is providing pre-treatment to the people in affected areas. Additionally, there is a high risk of fly-borne diseases and dengue due to the flood situation. Mr. Rohana urged for increased attention to the health status of children, who are particularly vulnerable.
In order to minimize the risk of disease spread, the association advises residents to prioritize using food prepared at home rather than relying on outside sources. Taking these precautions can significantly reduce the likelihood of disease outbreaks in flood-affected areas.
