Update: It is reported that 5 people died in the accident that occurred when a large tree fell on a SLTB bus near Liberty Roundabout.
Operations are underway to rescue a group of people who were trapped in a Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) bus after a tree fell on the bus near the Liberty Roundabout on Duplication Road, Kollupitiya.
A group of people trapped in the bus were rescued and admitted to the National Hospital.
Several teams of the Colombo Fire Service Department were working to rescue the trapped people.
The Sri Lanka Police said that Duplication Road was temporarily closed after the accident.
It is also reported that almost everyone has been able to get out.
