In a shocking incident, a drunken police constable created chaos at Dambagalle police station, assaulting an inspector before making a quick escape. The incident occurred on the night of the 27th, leaving the police force stunned.
The absconding constable, identified as a police driver, had arrived at the police station under the influence of alcohol, despite being on mobile duty that night. Without any provocation, he engaged in unruly behavior, grabbing a police inspector by the neck and physically assaulting him.
In response, the Monaragala District 01 Superintendent of Police swiftly took action, suspending the constable, who is currently on the run.
