The Ministry of Agriculture says that eggs will not be imported into Sri Lanka after December.
Agriculture Minister Mahinda Amaraweera said that it is expected that egg production will increase and the price of eggs will decrease in this country.
The minister also mentioned that 1.5 million eggs are exported from Sri Lanka to Maldives every month.
He added that they are currently discussing the export of eggs to four other countries from next year.
