President Ranil Wickramasinghe has decided to appoint a committee to investigate the allegations made by Channel 4’s recent report program regarding the Easter Sunday attacks in Sri Lanka.
The committee is to be headed by a retired Supreme Court judge.
The government also intends to appoint a parliamentary select committee to investigate the allegation made by a former attorney general that there was a mastermind behind the attack.
President Ranil Wickramasinghe says that the report of the Presidential Commission of Inquiry and the report of the Parliamentary Select Committee regarding the Easter attack will be submitted to Parliament after the completion of the two ongoing investigations before reaching a final decision.
There is no purpose in having inquiry & commissions to probe further. It is best that the aggrieved party files an international case for defamation & claim damages. This money will help to restore the fallen economy
