Dayasiri Jayasekara has been removed from SLFP

Mr. Dayasiri Jayasekara has been removed from the post of Secretary General of Sri Lanka Freedom Party and his party membership has been suspended.

“I have been informed that party chairperson Maithripala Sirisena has suspended my membership of the SLFP Party and removed me from the post of Secretary General. “I have always been loyal to the party and I only ask the party to take a collective decision for the people,” said the MP.

In the related letter sent to the MP with the signature of the party chairperson Mr. Maithripala Sirisena, it is stated that a disciplinary inquiry is being conducted against Mr. Dayasiri Jayasekara.

Mr. Maithripala Sirisena has also mentioned that within the next 14 days, the charge sheet regarding the violation of discipline will be sent.

Accordingly, it is reported that Mr. Sarath Ekanayake, who served as the Acting Secretary of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party, is to be appointed as the new General Secretary of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party.
