    The beauty of the final Randoli Perahera of the Senkadagala Esala Festival

    The final Randoli Perahera of the Senkadagala Esala Perahera Festival joined the street tour yesterday (30) afternoon.

    Esala Perahera toured the festival streets as Kumbhal for five days and as Randoli for another five days.

    On the last day, the sacred tooth relic was carried by the Wasana elephant of Ruhunu Kataragama Maha Devala.

    Sinharaja elephant of the Sri Dalada Palace’ elephant class and Kandula elephant of Kelani Raja Maha Vihara walked in the Dela.

    Mr. Pradeep Nilanga Dela, Diyawadana Nilame of Sri Dalada Palace joined the procession, and Basnayake Nilames of Natha, Vishnu, Kataragama and Paththini temples also joined the procession.

    Hundreds of thousands of devotees participated to watch the last Randoli procession and President Ranil Wickramasinghe and the said lady his wife also joined to watch the procession.

    After the last Randoli procession, the sacred tooth relic was arrived at the Sri Dalada Palace and deposited in the Asgiriya Gedige Rajamaha Vihara.

    Later, after the ritual of cutting water with the participation of four Devala and the afternoon procession, this year’s annual procession comes to an end.

    Diyawadana Nilame Mr. Pradeep Nilanga Dela, will hand over the memorandum stating that the procession was successfully completed to the President that afternoon at the Presidential Palace in Kandy.
