A person who fled to India despite a court ban was brought back

Katunayake immigration officials managed to bring a person to Sri Lanka who had been banned from flying by two Sri Lankan courts who sneaked to India.

This forty-five-year-old resident of Jaffna had gone to Mumbai, India from Katunayake Airport at around 11.45 pm last night.

An Australian female passenger saw this person avoiding the immigration windows and pointed it out to the immigration authorities.

Katunayake airport authorities state that after getting information about him and informing the flight authorities in Mumbai, India, he was arrested and deported back to Sri Lanka when he got off the plane.

They also state that the Katunayake Airport immigration stamp was forged on his passport even though the passenger did not come to the airport immigration counters.

Further investigations are underway on him.
