An argument between two inmates in Agunakolapalassa prison went serious, and one of the inmates died yesterday while being hospitalized after being assaulted by the other inmate.
A 40-year-old inmate named Upul Shanta has been killed. The inmate, who is a resident of Middeniya Group Farm, was beaten to death by a prisoner named Y. Sujith. He is a resident of Kudavella, Tangalle.
The prison says that the incident took place in the ward where insane suspects were kept.
