The Department of Meteorology says that Sri Lanka will be directly above the near latitudes as the sun moves southward from today (28) to September 07.
Today (28th) at 12:11 pm, the sun will rise over Kovilan Point and Mallakam (Jaffna District).
Meanwhile, a slight increase in rainfall in the southwestern part of the island is expected from today (28) in the next few days.
Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces and Nuwara Eliya, Kandy, Galle and Matara districts will experience several rains.
In Uva Province and Ampara and Batticaloa Districts, rain or thundershowers will occur at places in the evening or at night.
People are advised to take necessary measures to minimize the dangers caused by temporary strong winds and lightning that may occur with thunderstorms.
