An air passenger who was about to leave for India was caught by the customs officials at the Katunayake International Airport with three pods containing gold gel worth 250 lakh rupees hidden in his rectum.
A 29-year-old three-wheeler driver, a resident of Keselwatte, Colombo, has been arrested.
The weight of this gold gel is 1 kg and 280 grams, said Mr. Sudantha Silva, Customs Media Spokesman, Deputy Director of Customs.
