    The government’s latest drone operation

    The Agricultural and Agrarian Insurance Board says that drones of the Air Force are being used to accurately calculate crop losses due to drought.

    Director General Panduka Weerasinghe states that his teams are currently conducting preliminary inspections of the damaged rice fields.

    Mr. Panduka Weerasinghe also said that no insurance compensation will be given to any person who set fire to the paddy fields saying that they were destroyed.

    The Agriculture and Agrarian Insurance Board said that compensation of one lakh rupees per hectare will be paid for crops damaged by dry weather.
