Are previously imported vehicles stuck at customs? – Here is a good news

Minister of State for Finance Dr. Ranjith Siambalapitiya says that permission will be granted to release cars that have been imported and detained at the customs during the import ban period.

The Minister points out that the vehicles that have not been given customs declarations can be released after reporting to the Controller General of Imports and Exports by paying a 30% tax on the CIF Value.

The Minister of State said that the import of buses used for public transport, lorries and trucks used for the transport of goods has been permitted since yesterday and this opportunity will also be granted under the permission given.

It is now possible to import vehicles used for special purposes such as garbage trucks, fire engines, buses and buses needed to promote the tourism industry.
