    8 districts heat up – 100,000 affected

    The number of people affected by the ongoing extreme dry weather has risen to 97,490.

    The Disaster Management Center says that the Jaffna district has been most affected by the dry weather.

    69,113 people have been affected in that district.

    Meanwhile, the report issued by the Disaster Management Center shows that 8 districts have been affected by the dry weather.

    Those districts are Ratnapura, Trincomalee, Puttalam, Kurunegala, Jaffna, Mannar, Mullaitivu and Badulla.

    The number of affected families in those districts is 30,128.

    1. With all this spending money on various projects and money going into peoples pockets, why can’t this govt. Take an example from Saudi Arabia and make rain fall like they do. We have plenty of cloud cover for this, unlike Saudi, they have to wait for a little cloud to form. Its worth while spending on this project, just imagine what it can do to a small country like ours. All electricity, agricultural and farming will be sorted out, and the country will be self suficient too.
