Dr. Jayasundara Bandara, Project Director of Primary Health Services Empowerment, said that people over 35 years of age in Sri Lanka have been medically examined, and their health information has been added to a single data system.
Mr. Jayasundara also mentioned that the information of the patients who visited the Suva Diri clinics of 600 hospitals in the island are stored in the same data system.
Mr. Jayasundara Bandara said that since the information of those patients, especially about non-communicable diseases, is included in the data system, after they are admitted to any hospital in the island on any day, the doctors can easily know their disease history from the data system.
He also mentioned that by the end of this year, all the hospitals in the island will be included in the project.
Mr. Jayasundara Bandara said that the program was implemented with the assistance of the World Bank.
