The pilot and an engineer of the aircraft have died in a training aircraft accident that occurred in the air force’s Chinabay camp.
China Bay Port Police say that this accident happened at 11.27 am today.
This aircraft was taken off for a test flight after a new upgrade.
The deceased was an engineer and a pilot.
A PT 6 type aircraft which is used to train the pilots of the No. 01 Flight Training Wing located at the Sri Lanka Air Force China Bay Academy, has met with an accident in the Air Force’s China Bay Camp area.
Air Force Media Spokesperson Group Captain Dushan Wijesinghe said that Air Force Commander Air Marshal Udeni Rajapaksa has appointed a special investigation committee to investigate the accident.
