The Kollupitiya police say that a businessman from Kataragama, who is a resident of England and engaged in business activities, came to Sri Lanka and was staying at a hotel in Kollupitiya was robbed of money and property after making him drunk by two prostitutes who were with him.
This 46-year-old businessman has complained to the Kollupitiya Police about this on the last 4th. This businessman told the police that he had come to Sri Lanka for a business purpose and had been staying in a hotel located at Kollupitiya Dharmapala Mawatha since July 29.
The businessman told the police that he brought a woman to the hotel room on the 1st with the help of his friend, and the woman told him that she can bring another woman if needed. The businessman has told the police that since he was not against it, the woman brought another woman, and he had fun drinking alcohol with them.
He told the police that he fell asleep due to drinking too much alcohol, and when he woke up the next morning, the two women were not in the room.
It is stated in the complaint made by the businessman to the police that it was discovered during the inspection of the room that money worth Rs. 180000 in the wallet was missing, and on further inspection, two sunglasses worth Rs. 50,000, two Air Buds, two Air Pods, 04 bottles of perfume, a bottle of shampoo and a bottle of VODKA were found by these two women and had been taken away. He told the police that it was difficult to specify the value due to the items he had brought when he came from England and that the value would be given later.
The officers of Kollupitiya Police’s Criminal Investigation Division, who investigated in this regard, checked the hotel’s security cameras and arrested a 23-year-old woman residing at Anandarama Mawatha, Kolonnawa and a 43-year-old woman residing at Maligawatta Place, Colombo 10. The stolen property was also found in the possession of these two women.
These two women were released on bail of Rs. 500,000 each after being produced before the Fort Magistrate’s Court on the 5th.
