Mr. Deputy Speaker Ajith Rajapaksa says that if a proper solution is not found for the water problem of Walava farmers, he will take a political decision in the future.
He mentions that he is ready to give up all positions for the people if the government does not intervene to solve the people’s problems.
The deputy speaker said that the government should immediately intervene to solve the water problem in the North-West region.
About 40,000 farming families in Monaragala, Hambantota and Ratnapura districts have become helpless due to lack of water from the Udawalawa reservoir and Chandrika lake.
He said that the support received from some ministers representing the cabinet is not enough to solve the problem.
