A project has been started to digitize and preserve ancient temple murals in Sri Lanka.
It is by the Ministry of Buddhism, Religious and Cultural Affairs.
The opening ceremony was held today (26) at Sudarshanarama, Kiribathgoda under the chairmanship of Minister Vidura Wickramanayake.
The project is to preserve the murals of 874 ancient temples registered with the Department of Archaeology.
They will then be deposited in the Paintings and Murals Conservation and Research Center.
