The World Food and Agriculture Organization has decided to grant 8300 metric tons of urea to Sri Lanka.
The stock of urea is distributed among the farmers who cultivate less than one hectare of paddy in the Maha season.
The World Food and Agriculture Organization said that the farmers of the northern and eastern provinces as well as the Kurunegala district will be entitled to the relief.
This is sponsored by the Japanese government.
At present, nearly 15,000 metric tons of urea have been given to farmers in Sri Lanka in coordination with the World Food and Agriculture Organization.
